Today we flew on a plane named after a shield volcano, or something like that. Iceland air names their planes, an idea I actually really enjoyed. It's a really quick way to transport yourself to another world, where the gods and heroes are a close part of society.
The pilot mentioned that while over Greenland, we would be able to get a glimpse of the northern lights. Unfortunately, I was seated on the side facing south, so I was unable to see anything. Also, think twice about getting a window seat... I had to use my jacket to keep my legs warm and the blanket for my arms... I guess they are trying to really immerse us in the way of Iceland.
